One awesome thing about taking a trip in a rented motorhome or campervan is the amazing amount of storage space you have at your disposal. And unlike at a hotel, you do not need to worry about constantly having to walk your luggage back and forth. You stow it at the start of your trip, and you unload it at the very end.
This convenience may tempt you to pack a great deal more for a motorhome vacation than you would for a trip where you stay in a hotel. Here are some tips to help you keep your luggage tidy and safe for the duration of your trip.
• Pack only what you really need. It is often advantageous to pack light even when you have the luxury of bringing half your wardrobe with you. Items are easy to lose on vacation, even in a motorhome, so it is recommended that you take only the valuables you can’t live without.

Those going on an extended trip may pack some extra odds and ends and put them where they are most convenient—cooking supplies in the kitchen, hygiene supplies in the bathroom, outdoor supplies in the stow, and so on. If you do end up spreading out your possessions like this, it is smart to maintain a list of all the items and their locations. That way you can cross items off the list when you are unloading. This will ensure you do not forget a single belonging, even if you have placed it somewhere obscure, far from your other possessions.
• Put labels on suitcases. This is just basic good advice for any vacation, regardless of whether you will be hiring a motorhome or not. Labelling suitcases in a set can help each family member to instantly identify his or her luggage.
• Do not forget to organize inside your suitcases. Finally, coming up with a system for arranging clothing, accessories and other small items inside your suitcases and bags is important too. It is easy to overlook the details when you are busy thinking about the bigger picture, but a smart organizing system inside your bags will keep items as accessible as possible while conserving space.
